Multi-vehicle crash injures 5-year-old, 3 others

Authorities in New Jersey take auto accidents that injure children and/or pedestrians very seriously. The same holds true in Brooklyn, where law enforcement issued a summons to a teenage girl who allegedly struck two other vehicles and a pedestrian with her sports car on Monday afternoon.

Reportedly, the sports car’s driver had four passengers in the vehicle with her, all teenage girls like herself. She allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of 4th Avenue and 54th Street, reportedly striking a minivan, a pedestrian and one other vehicle.

Among the four people reportedly injured in the crash was a 5-year-old boy, who was a passenger of the minivan, and his father, the minivan’s driver. The other two injured parties were the pedestrian, a woman in her 40s, and one of the sports car’s passengers. All four went to the hospital. It is known that a third vehicle also sustained damage in the collision, but no further details are available.

The most seriously injured of the four who went to the hospital is the pedestrian. Reports indicate that her condition is stable and that all four injured parties are likely to survive. However, no specifics are available as to the nature and severity of the other injuries resulting from the crash. Therefore, it is impossible to gauge from the available information what the long-term effects of the injuries sustained in the crash may be. Nevertheless, injured survivors of a car accident may wish to consult an attorney to ask for an explanation of their legal options following a crash.
